Job Overview:

Core Education is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Swim Coach to join the team at ACUDEO College Thornview. This is a permanent position, and the ideal candidate will be SACE registered, passionate about swimming, and committed to promoting a positive and competitive swimming environment. In addition to coaching swimming, the candidate should have experience coaching other sporting codes to provide well-rounded sports education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach swimming to students at various skill levels.

  • Promote a positive, motivating, and inclusive learning environment for swimmers.

  • Develop and implement training programs that help swimmers achieve their personal and competitive goals.

  • Ensure safety of swimmers at all times and maintain a first-aid-ready environment.

  • Assist in the management of swimming competitions and events.

  • Coach at least two other sports to support the broader sporting program at the school.

  • Work closely with the sports department to develop a holistic sports program for students.

  • Monitor and track athletes’ progress and provide feedback.

Requirements:

  • Learn to Swim qualification.

  • Registered with Swim SA (South African Swimming).

  • Coaching qualification: Must have at least Level 1 or Level 2 coaching certification.

  • First Aid Level 1 or higher, along with CPR certification.

  • Additional qualifications: Child Protection Training (recommended).

  • SACE registered (South African Council for Educators).

  • Certified copy of ID and SACE certificate.

  • Certified Police Clearance Certificate.

  • Must be able to coach at least two other sporting codes besides swimming.

  • A passionate and enthusiastic approach to coaching, with a focus on skill development and sportsmanship.
