About the IEC Logistics Internship 2025
The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC), a constitutional institution under Chapter 9 of the South African Constitution, is offering a 24-month internship for a graduate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Procurement.
This opportunity is aimed at unemployed South African graduates (35 years or younger) who have never previously worked in their field of study or participated in an internship. The intern will be based at the Gauteng Provincial Office and work closely with the logistics team on various electoral operations.
Key Responsibilities
The intern will receive structured mentorship and training while supporting:

Inbound logistics, procurement, distribution, and inventory management

Supplier tracking and delivery scheduling

Logistical operations related to by-elections
-
Document management, reporting, and general administration
-
Preparing presentations and performance reports
-
Filing systems and correspondence management
-
Exposure to electoral operations and financial admin processes
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:

Be 35 years of age or younger
-
Not have participated in any internship or worked in their field of study

Have Matric (Grade 12/N3/NQF Level 4)

Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in one of the following:
-
Logistics
-
Supply Chain Management
-
Procurement
-
Additional Skills Required

Effective written and verbal communication

Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)

Willingness to learn and use new systems

Time management and problem-solving skills
