REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Qualifications:
-
Senior Certificate or equivalent
-
National Diploma / Degree in Financial Accounting or equivalent

Experience:
-
2 years’ experience in bursary administration
-
Strong understanding of the TVET College Bursary Scheme and NSFAS regulations
-

Skills & Competencies:
-
Basic knowledge of financial functions and data capture
-
Proficient in Ms Word and Excel
-
Ability to handle qualitative and quantitative data
-
Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
-
Interpersonal relations and ability to work under pressure
-
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
-
Driver’s licence is required

DUTIES:
-
Provide financial assistance support to students during registration times
-
Advise students on financial aid options (including NSFAS) during registration and orientation
-
Assist with the application process for both new and progressing students
-
Support students in online applications for NSFAS and other financial aid schemes
-
Capture and submit NSFAS applications through the registration template
-
Assist with applications for private accommodation and travel allowances
-
Manage student attendance reports and verify accommodation details
-
Handle verbal and written enquiries from students, parents, and stakeholders
-
Administer bursary schemes, ensuring compliance with NSFAS guidelines and policies
-
Create bursary funds and estimates on the ITS system
-
Coordinate disbursement of funds and allocate bursary remittances on the system
-
Ensure proper record keeping for audits and positive audit outcomes
-
Liaise with the finance department to ensure continuous updates and reconciliations of student accounts

Provide guidance and support to bursary clerks
