Education & Qualification:

Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical Fitting with N2.

Proof of successful completion of a formal Institutionalised Training Programme.
Experience:

A minimum of 3 years working experience as a trade-tested Artisan: Fitter.

Strong ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and fault-finding.

Experience with planned maintenance systems.
Skills & Attributes:

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Willingness to work planned and unplanned overtime.

Must be a South African citizen.
🛠️ Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Inspections:
-
Perform maintenance and inspections as per the job card.
-
Attend to breakdowns swiftly and efficiently to minimize downtime.
-
Work with overhead cranes, including the rigging of heavy equipment.
Preventative Maintenance:
-
Conduct daily inspections on mechanical equipment.
-
Carry out scheduled and preventative maintenance as part of the maintenance system.
Projects & Installations:
-
Assist with new projects and installations, ensuring quality standards are upheld.
Mechanical Equipment Maintenance:
-
Maintain valves, pumps, gearboxes, conveying systems, centrifugal fans, and other mechanical plant equipment.

Inspect and maintain pressure vessels to ensure operational safety.
Safety & Housekeeping:
-
Adhere to safety procedures as per RCL Foods Sugar & Milling and OSHA standards.

Maintain housekeeping and ensure all work areas are clean and safe.
Off-Crop Planning:

Assist with off-crop planning and take on off-crop maintenance duties during non-peak seasons.
