Role Overview

Minimum Requirements

Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)

Relevant nursing qualification (paediatric, school, or general nursing experience preferred)

Calm, warm, and professional in both routine and emergency care
-
Strong administrative and computer skills

Excellent time management and organisational abilities

Commitment to pupil wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusion

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Required clearance certificates
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Maintain a welcoming, hygienic, and fully equipped Sanatorium
-
Provide comprehensive medical and emotional care to pupils
-
Respond promptly to medical needs during school hours and on roster-based after-hours shifts
-
Coordinate referrals to healthcare providers
-
Maintain accurate, confidential health records
-
Manage medication administration and dispensary stock
-
Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and medical professionals
-
Oversee infection control and communicable disease protocols
-
Monitor pupils with chronic illnesses and support recovery
-
Support school wellness programmes and health education
-
Participate in the pastoral care team and wider school community life
-
Uphold the school’s ethos and values in all aspects of care
-
Perform general nursing administration duties
