Description:
Purpose:
Exciting opportunities exist to assist in ensuring efficient operations of the Plant by maintaining equipment and attending to breakdowns as required.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance:
-
Create and manage job cards
-
Execute planned engineering work
-
Inspect equipment in operational areas
-
Perform general and process-related maintenance and repairs (electrical/mechanical)
-
Carry out planned maintenance tasks
-
Troubleshoot issues with centrifugal pumps, electrical motors, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems
-
Conduct quality assurance checks on service providers
Health and Safety:
-
Adhere to company and client safety policies and procedures
-
Promote and monitor safety performance
-
Conduct risk assessments and planned task observations
-
Investigate and report incidents
-
Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety regulations
Operations:
-
Maintain good housekeeping standards
-
Perform thorough shift handovers
-
Assist in plant operations as needed
-
Address process deficiencies
-
Monitor and optimize plant performance
-
Advise operations staff on substandard practices
-
Manage and monitor spare parts
Administration:
-
Complete reports related to safety, production, quality control, and maintenance
Requirements
Qualifications:
-
N3 Certificate with Mechanical and/or Electrical subjects
-
Trade Test – Millwright (MQA/MerSETA preferred)
Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years as a Millwright
-
Experience in mining, production, or construction environments (preferred)
-
Solid knowledge of star/delta starters and VSD systems
-
Basic PLC programming and field application
-
Experience with internal combustion (diesel) engines
