Job Description:

The Claims Department is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated intern to support the Buildings Assessing Team with daily administrative and technical tasks. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in the buildings assessment and insurance field, ideal for a graduate passionate about service, construction, and problem-solving.

Contract Type:

  • 12-month fixed-term internship (not an employment contract)

  • Includes a monthly stipend


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day administrative and support tasks in the Buildings Assessing team

  • Learn and apply insurance-related processes in the construction field

  • Engage in customer-focused service delivery

  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping

  • Collaborate with assessors, claims handlers, and operations team


Qualifications:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (minimum requirement)

  • NQF Level 4 in Civil Engineering, Building Science, or a related field


Skills & Competencies:

  • Customer service orientation

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Deadline-driven and self-motivated

  • Takes ownership and accountability

  • Team player with interpersonal skills


INSETA Internship Eligibility Requirements:

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old

  • Not previously participated in any INSETA internship or learnership

  • Be unemployed for the past 2 months
