About the Role

St Alban’s College, a leading South African boys’ high school, is seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Alumni Relations Officer to oversee and grow the College’s relationship with its alumni network and community.

This role reports directly to the Headmaster and the Chairman of the Old Albanian Committee (OAC).


Key Responsibilities

Event Management

  • Plan, schedule, and manage alumni events with clear goals

  • Organise annual Class Reunions and coordinate event logistics

  • Handle alumni event queries via email, phone, and post

  • Represent the College at all alumni events and support their smooth execution

  • Innovate new ways to boost alumni engagement

  • Host regular on-campus alumni receptions

Communications

  • Manage all alumni and old parent communications (print, digital, social media)

  • Collaborate with Marketing to produce relevant content and press releases

  • Maintain biographical and milestone data (marriages, births, achievements, etc.)

  • Coordinate with College and OAC webmasters to keep alumni websites current

  • Develop internal comms systems including weekly newsletters

  • Profile alumni advocates for school initiatives

Data Management

  • Record event attendance and registration

  • Collaborate with the Database Administrator to keep alumni records updated

  • Assist with mail-outs and database updates, including annual leaver reports

Fundraising

  • Support fundraising by providing alumni contact lists and communications

  • Assist with the rollout of the College’s three-year Alumni Relations & Development Plan

  • Help execute fundraising campaigns

General

  • Standardise alumni engagement and data procedures

  • Provide administrative support to the Old Albanian Club (OAC) including meeting agendas, minutes, payments, and data storage

  • Attend meetings and events on behalf of the College and OAC

  • Undertake any additional duties as required by the Headmaster or OAC Chairman
