About the Internship

The City of Johannesburg invites unemployed graduates and qualifying students residing in Johannesburg to apply for an 18-month internship within the GSPCR department. The programme is intended to provide on-the-job training for students needing practical exposure to complete their academic qualifications.


Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)

  • Completed 3-year qualification (minimum 360 credits) in one of the following fields:

    • Public Policy

    • Social Science

    • Statistics

    • Internal Audit

    • Development Studies

    • Administration

    • Management

    • Monitoring and Evaluation

    • Or an equivalent NQF Level 6 or 7 qualification

  • Must be a resident of Johannesburg


Key Learning Areas

  • Assist with performance verification and evaluation processes

  • Support the implementation of corporate performance policy

  • Handle administrative and reporting-related tasks


Core and Leading Competencies

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Strong analytical and research skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Sound understanding of public administration principles

  • Able to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines

  • Commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity
