Job Description

RCL Foods is looking for a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our Spreads Division in Boksburg. The successful incumbent will report to the Engineering Superintendent.

The purpose of the role is to ensure efficient and effective electrical maintenance with a high standard of workmanship and safety practices.


Minimum Requirements:

Education & Qualification:

  • Completed N3 and relevant Electrical Trade Test.

Experience and Training:

  • 5 years’ experience as an Electrician within FMCG Manufacturing.

  • MV training is a must (Medium voltage valid certificate).

  • Experience with AC and DC Drives.

  • PLC experience and training (Certificate on attendance).

  • Exposure to instrumentation.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintenance:

  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance of all electrical equipment.

  • Be proactive in identifying potential faults or breakdowns before they occur.

  • Perform various electrical projects and ensure completion within the agreed time frame and to correct specifications.

  • Minimize production downtime due to breakdowns by addressing issues cost-effectively.

  • Ensure equipment is maintained as per proper practice to ensure continuous good condition.

Stand-by Duty:

  • Willing to take turns for stand-by duty and respond promptly to call-outs.

  • Ensure that production losses are minimized and fault-finding techniques are effective.

Overtime:

  • Willing to work outside of normal working hours to meet deadlines and production needs.

Safety / Housekeeping:

  • Practice and enforce Siqalo Foods’ codes of safety and housekeeping.

  • Ensure compliance with work permit and lockout systems, adhering to safety standards.

Admin:

  • Ensure that all work order information submitted is accurate and complete.

  • Submit completed work orders and documentation to the foreman in a timely manner to avoid delays and backlogs.

General:

  • Ensure no comeback jobs due to poor workmanship.

  • Manage power factor correction and conduct weekly inspections to avoid unnecessary fines.

  • Adhere to proper fault-finding procedures to avoid unnecessary costs.

  • Maintain proper time management to ensure productivity is not affected.
