Job Description
The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) seeks to appoint 18 interns for its Range and Forage Sciences team. Interns will be placed in Irene, UWC (University of Western Cape), Pretoria, and Eastern Cape. Applicants must choose only one province for placement.
Duties include:

Assist with preparation of materials and equipment for field work.

Collect and label data during field operations.

Capture, store, and manage data throughout and after field activities.
-
Ensure proper use and maintenance of research equipment.

Compile monthly and quarterly project reports.
-
Support general project and research activity coordination.
-
Adhere to SOPs and OHS protocols.
-
Contribute to ARC-AP research initiatives.
-
Provide regular verbal and written progress feedback.
-
Uphold ARC’s mission, vision, and values.
Requirements
-
National Diploma / BSc / Honours / MSc in one of the following:
-
Agricultural Management
-
Animal Sciences
-
Plant Sciences
-
Wildlife Management
-
Biodiversity Conservation
-
-
Further postgraduate qualifications will be advantageous.
-
Fieldwork experience (rangeland and/or animal-related).
-
Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written).
-
Proficiency in MS Office.
-
Ability to multitask and work in large teams.
-
Quick, confident decision-making ability.
-
Code 8 or 10 driver’s license is an added advantage.
