Job Purpose

The Bookkeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the financial integrity, accuracy, and operational efficiency of the school. Responsible for cash flow management, reconciliations, payment processing, audit preparation, and other finance-related tasks, the Bookkeeper ensures all financial transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with policies. This role reports to the Finance Manager and Chief Operating Officer.


Key Responsibilities

  • Cash Book Capturing: Record and reconcile all financial transactions.

  • Petty Cash Management: Oversee petty cash fund and documentation.

  • Monthly Reconciliations: Prepare detailed reports and resolve discrepancies.

  • Payment Processing: Prepare and upload payments, maintain records.

  • Asset Management: Maintain asset register and conduct audits.

  • Budget Support: Assist with budget processes and monitor performance.

  • Compliance & Audit: Support internal and external audits.

  • Debtors/Creditors Oversight: Review reconciliations and aging reports.

  • Additional Tasks: Manage Karri app reconciliation, prepare financial reports, and assist with ad hoc financial projects.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Science, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in bookkeeping or financial administration, preferably in education or service sectors.

  • Familiarity with school billing and tuition fee administration preferred.

  • Knowledge of accounting systems, audit prep, compliance, and procurement processes.

  • Own reliable transport.
