Position Available: Afrikaans First Additional Language Teacher (Grade 8–12)

Key Responsibilities:

Teach Afrikaans First Additional Language to Grades 8–12 in accordance with the IEB curriculum

Prepare learners for NSC (IEB) examinations, ensuring high academic standards and learner success

Develop engaging and relevant lesson plans that foster language development and cultural appreciation

Implement differentiated teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
-
Participate in subject-specific professional development and curriculum planning

Contribute to the academic, cultural, and extracurricular life of the school
Minimum Requirements:
-
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in education or related field with Afrikaans as a major; a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification is essential

Experience: Proven experience teaching Afrikaans FAL to Grades 8–12, preferably in an IEB environment

Skills: Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills

Registration: SACE registration (or eligibility to register before employment begins)
