About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher to join our primary school team starting 1 January 2026. This position involves teaching class music—including theory, singing, and practical work—to learners from Foundation Phase to Intersen Phase.
Ideal candidates will be able to:
🎼 Coordinate and lead music classes across grades
🎻 Lead an orchestra or support extra-mural music activities (advantageous)
📊 Manage the music centre, budgets, resources, and inventory
🧑🏫 Support and lead other music educators, assistants, and accompanists
📅 Timetable lessons efficiently across various grades
📈 Maintain records of assessments and learner progress
Minimum Requirements
✅ Recognized qualification in Music Education or equivalent
✅ SACE registration
✅ Valid Police Clearance certificate
✅ Proven experience teaching music to primary school-aged learners
✅ Experience managing a music centre
✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Ability to work in a parallel medium environment (English & Afrikaans)
✅ Willingness to support the school’s Christian ethos and values
