Job Description

The Multi Skilled Supervisor is responsible for the effective day-to-day shift supervision of cinema operations and team management. This includes maintaining product quality and operational standards, ensuring optimal guest experience, and aligning daily activities with the company’s broader strategic objectives.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Efficient stock control (inventory levels, cost of sales, and risk management)

  • Float and cashier variance control

  • Full responsibility for banking processes and money received

  • Control of vouchers and complimentary ticket issuance

  • Monitor key metrics such as Hit Rate and Spend Per Person (SPP)

  • Ensure cinema opens and closes on time

  • Stock planning based on operational forecasts

  • Schedule staff according to operational requirements

  • Ensure effective shift preparation and staff duty allocations

  • Oversee support services (e.g. cleaning staff)

  • Lead shift briefings, handovers, and write shift reports

  • Be visible on the floor to engage with guests and handle feedback or complaints

  • Process refunds, re-admissions, and complimentary tickets

  • Monitor staff appearance, equipment functionality, and cinema environment

  • Report and resolve operational or equipment issues

  • Communicate changes in policies or procedures to staff

  • Implement business action plans and provide feedback on their effectiveness

  • Manage technical, ICT, and projection issues

  • Ensure compliance with all SOPs, including those related to Prestige cinemas

  • Maintain and update the Occurrence Book as per protocol

  • Enforce staff policies: attendance, leave, disciplinary processes, etc.

  • Identify staff training needs and manage onboarding of new employees

  • Support staff motivation, communication, and performance

  • Ensure all guests are treated courteously

  • Lead strong shift handovers that equip the next team to deliver excellent service

  • Maintain visible leadership presence during all shifts


Qualifications

  • Matric: Essential

  • Minimum NQF Level 5 Qualification: Advantageous

  • Availability to work shifts


Experience & Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience as a Multi Skilled Employee (MSE)

  • Experience with VISTA and/or MYCC systems
