Position Overview
Treverton College, a Christian independent school in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, invites applications for the position of School Nursing Sister. This is a residential post that plays a key role in ensuring the health and well-being of both staff and learners, with a focus on medical care in a boarding school context.
Minimum Requirements
-
Must be a Christian and active member of a local church (letter of reference from your pastor required)

Recognised nursing qualification and proof of SANC registration
-
Experience in a school or boarding environment (advantageous)
-
Must reside on campus (accommodation provided)
-
Valid Basic Life Support and First Aid Level 3 certification
-
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
-
Dispensing license or currently in the process of obtaining one
Key Responsibilities
-
First aid and daily medical support for learners and staff
-
Dispensing medication and maintaining medical records
-
Managing medical insurance claims, invoicing, and stock orders
-
Coordinating doctor visits and hospital trips
-
Implementing and monitoring health and safety protocols
-
Drug testing (if required)
-
Providing basic counselling and support
-
Being on call during nights and weekends while pupils are on campus

Collaborating closely with boarding staff
Ideal Attributes & Skills

Excellent communication, organisation, and administrative abilities

Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Experience with medical data reporting and accounting

Competent in computer applications
