Job Overview
Develop and execute category plans aligned with strategy, objectives, and category guidelines. Optimize performance of assigned categories by implementing effective buying strategies and ensuring customer-focused outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Negotiation:

Develop and present compelling arguments to build support and gain commitment

Manage conflicts diplomatically and anticipate negotiation roadblocks
Category Strategy:
-
Use internal and external data to recommend business strategies for category growth
-
Evaluate merchandising plans and suggest modifications
-
Identify process improvements for efficiency and cost reduction
Category Performance:
-
Monitor sales, margin, availability, waste, stock, strike rates, and other metrics
-
Maintain knowledge of category, industry trends, and competitive environment
-
Implement tactical buying plans aligned with category and business strategy
Supplier Relations:
-
Communicate regularly with suppliers regarding performance criteria
-
Use metrics to hold suppliers accountable and develop contingency plans

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
Private Brand Strategy & Development:
-
Execute Private Brand category strategy aligned with overall business growth
Merchandise Knowledge:
-
Apply knowledge of merchandise, promotions, and pricing
-
Develop merchandising solutions to achieve business goals

Stay updated on industry trends and market forces to enhance category performance
Minimum Requirements
-
Preferably a relevant University Degree
-
3–4 years retail experience
-
Experience in Category Management (Baby Care preferred)

Proven success on financial KPIs
-
SAP knowledge and strong analytical skills
