Job Overview
Manage the liquor store department to maximize gross margins and profits, maintain operational standards, and ensure hygiene and safety compliance. Supervise staff and oversee merchandising, stock management, customer service, and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising Management:

Execute plano guide 100%
-
Rotate stock according to policy/SOP

Maintain department merchandising and cleanliness standards
-
Monitor promotional space compliance
-
Elevate ongoing stock issues to Store Manager
-
Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards
Systems Management:
-
Gap scan for out-of-stock items
-
Count and record out-of-stocks & over-stocks
-
Draw reports from SAP and communicate stock concerns
-
Process IDTs and actions on SAP as per SOP
-
Monitor electronic communications throughout the day
Customer Services Management:
-
Handle customer complaints and special requests
-
Advise customers on products
People Management & Development:
-
Evaluate performance of direct reports against objectives
-
Review staffing requirements and schedule staff
-
Communicate new initiatives and department performance
-
Motivate, coach, and identify training needs for staff
Finance & Administration:
-
Ensure all equipment is maintained
-
Maintain general departmental standards
-
Monitor and control departmental expenses
-
Investigate deviations to budget and monitor waste
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12
-
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role
-
Previous experience in Wine/Liquor department or managing a department
