We invite applications for our High School Phase Internships, offering opportunities for candidates to gain valuable experience in both academic and boarding assistant roles.


Internship Role Summary:

The successful candidates will receive a one-year internship contract with St Mary’s, allowing them to develop their teaching skills, assist with boarding duties, and engage in extracurricular activities. The internship is designed for candidates who are passionate about education and eager to gain practical teaching experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with general teaching and other academic duties across various subjects

  • Participate in two extra-mural activities per week

  • Work closely with students and staff in a nurturing, inclusive environment

  • Be open to mentorship and coaching to develop teaching skills

  • Assist with daily boarding duties as required

  • Demonstrate competency in IT-integrated teaching and be open to learning new technologies


What We’re Looking For:

  • Applicants must be studying towards a PGCE in 2026

  • A warm, honest individual with strong values that align with the School’s Christian ethos

  • Flexibility to assist in all aspects of teaching and boarding life

  • Ability to engage in two extra-mural activities per week

  • High competency in IT-integrated teaching methods

  • Willingness to work in an inclusive environment

  • Availability to live and work in the Boarding Establishment
