Job Overview:
Dis-Chem Pearls requires Casual Frontshop Assistants to uphold merchandising standards while supporting customer service at point of sale in accordance with Dis-Chem policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric or Senior Certificate
-
0–6 months retail work experience
Advantageous:
-
1 year work experience within retail
-
Certification in Retail Business Management
Key Responsibilities:
-
Ensure shelves are fully stocked, neat, and properly presented
-
Monitor stock sell-by dates and manage out-of-stock items
-
Restock merchandise and assist with back shopping
-
Maintain accurate merchandise displays, labels, and pricing
-
Organize storeroom and handle delivered stock appropriately
-
Transact purchases, verify payments, and process loyalty cards
-
Maintain cash flow and adhere to cash handling procedures
-
Assist with stock rotation, counting, and general stocktaking
-
Identify and report damaged or expired stock
-
Load and off-load stock when required
-
Provide friendly, professional customer assistance
-
Report customer compliments and complaints
-
Assist in training new and current team members
-
Follow all Health & Safety rules, housekeeping, and uniform standards
Competencies & Skills:

Knowledge of retail operations and administration

Problem-solving and escalation awareness

Basic arithmetic skills

Effective verbal communication

Ability to follow procedures and take responsibility for work quality
Advantageous:

Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Numerical skills and familiarity with SAP
