🎯 Job Purpose:
This internship offers supervised training for MA/MSc Counselling Psychology students. Interns will provide counselling, psychotherapeutic services, and participate in the development of academic support and wellness programmes. The role complies with HPCSA internship requirements.
🔍 Key Responsibilities:
-
Provide individual and group counselling to students/young adults
-
Support academic and emotional wellness through therapeutic services
-
Develop and deliver preventative/self-help programmes
-
Conduct career and academic testing, provide feedback
-
Engage in research and programme evaluation
-
Undergo weekly supervision and present cases
-
Participate in institutional activities and team collaboration
✅ Minimum Requirements:
-
Registered for MA/MSc Counselling Psychology at an accredited university
-
Completed first-year coursework
-
Registered as a Student Psychologist with HPCSA
-
Completed required first-year practical work
⭐ Preferred Experience (Advantages):
-
Experience in a mental health clinic
-
Familiarity with psychometric assessments
-
Report writing experience
-
Already registered as an Intern Counselling Psychologist with HPCSA
