Transnet offers a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Trainee Programme aimed at helping recent graduates and students gain practical experience in a real-world work environment. This 12-month program enhances employability by providing mentorship, training, and exposure to industry-specific tasks.


🧑‍🎓 Key Responsibilities

  1. Task Execution

    • Assist in departmental projects.

    • Perform routine operational tasks under supervision.

    • Support administrative functions (documentation & reporting).

  2. Learning & Development

    • Attend training, workshops, and mentorship programs.

    • Shadow experienced professionals for hands-on insights.

    • Engage in problem-solving to develop analytical skills.

  3. Communication & Collaboration

    • Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

    • Provide regular task/project updates.

    • Serve as a central contact for queries and assistance.

  4. Research & Analysis

    • Conduct market research and analysis.

    • Assist in preparing reports using MS Office tools.

    • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.

  5. Compliance & Safety

    • Follow Transnet’s policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

    • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.


📋 Qualifications & Requirements

  • Matric Certificate (or equivalent).

  • Completed all theoretical subjects for a Diploma (University of Technology) in:

    • Information Technology

    • Business Administration

    • Supply Chain Management

  • Age between 18-35 years.

  • South African citizenship.

  • Preference to people with disabilities.

  • No existing bursary obligations with another company.

  • Certified copies of Matric certificate, academic record, and ID required.
