Programme Overview

The Land and Agricultural Development Bank of South Africa (Land Bank) is offering a 24-month Graduate Learnership Programme for young unemployed graduates interested in pursuing a career in the actuarial, statistical, or data science fields. The programme offers structured learning, on-the-job exposure, training opportunities, and mentorship.

Purpose of the Programme

  • To provide recent graduates with structured workplace experience and exposure in their field of study

  • To assist in skills development through mentorship, training, and real-world application

  • To support young professionals, especially from historically disadvantaged backgrounds, to grow in the agricultural and insurance sectors


Key Responsibilities

  • Complete all allocated duties professionally under mentor supervision

  • Engage in personal skills development related to the actuarial/insurance field

  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned

  • Conduct research and compile reports, memorandums, presentations, etc.


Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must hold a tertiary qualification in one of the following:

  • Actuarial Sciences

  • Mathematical Statistics

  • Data Science

  • Insurance-related qualifications

⚠️ Note: Applicants must not have any prior work experience post-graduation.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Effective written and verbal communication

  • Deadline-oriented and self-driven

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work extended hours when needed

  • Travel may be required as part of the programme
