Job Overview
Truworths is offering a Trainee Fashion Designer role at their Head Office in Cape Town. The trainee will work closely with Buyers to influence the look and feel of the brands and contribute to seasonal collections.
Key Responsibilities

Research international and local fashion trends and interpret them for the South African market

Assist Buyers in building product ranges with commercial and trend-focused colour palettes, fabrics, and key looks

Work on specific areas of design and collaborate on ad hoc design projects

Opportunity to attend international trade fairs and visit fashion capitals for trend research
Qualifications & Experience

Fashion design qualification or related field

Knowledge of fabric and garment construction

Graphic design knowledge is an advantage (to assist buying teams in product development)

Competencies

Hands-on involvement in styling details, branding, and graphics
