Tutor Job Overview:
Western TVET College invites qualified and former students to apply for tutor vacancies to assist with student learning. These roles are aimed at empowering former students with valuable work experience while supporting the academic success of current learners. The positions are available across various campuses and subjects in Gauteng.
Requirements:
1. Report 191 Engineering Tutors:

Subjects: N3 (x2), N4 Engineering Science & Mechanotechnics, N5 Fluid Mechanics or Strength of Materials, N6 Fluid Mechanics or Strength of Materials

Minimum average: 65% in relevant subjects for N3, N4, N5, and N6 levels.
2. National Certificate Vocational (NCV) Tutors:

Subjects:
-
Fundamentals (Maths, English FAL, Mathematical Literacy, etc.)
-
Engineering-Related Design
-
Welding
-
Automotive
-
Office Administration
-
-
Minimum average: 65% in the subject you are applying for.
3. Report 191 Business Studies Tutors:
-
Subjects: Computer Practice or Information Processing
-
Minimum average: 70% in N4, N5, and N6 levels.
Responsibilities:
Tutors will work closely with students and subject lecturers to provide academic support, including:

Assisting with homework, tests, and Integrated Summative Assessment Tasks (ISATs)
-
Explaining key concepts and helping students understand the material
-
Preparing tutoring files and reports
-
Supporting students with study strategies, test-taking techniques, and overall academic performance
-
Providing feedback to lecturers
-
Recording attendance and session preparation
-
Maintaining confidentiality of student performance
Tutors must also demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
