🎼 About the Role
Somerset College seeks a passionate Senior School Music Teacher to teach Grades 8–9 and lead marimba ensembles (both academic and co-curricular). The position is pivotal in promoting the school’s “music-for-all” philosophy, contributing to a well-established and dynamic music programme.
🎓 Requirements

Relevant academic and professional music teaching qualifications

SACE registration
-
Experience teaching Senior School Music (IEB experience advantageous)

Experience coaching marimba bands, pop bands, and teaching instruments/vocals
-
Passionate about diverse musical styles

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Team player with a warm and nurturing disposition

Commitment to the Christian ethos and values of the school
🎶 About the Music Department

Music offered from Pre-Prep to Grade 12

Activities: Choirs, jazz bands, string ensembles, class bands, marimba bands

Around 450 individual music lessons weekly

Major events: Annual Pops Concert, Grade 1–4 Instrumental Programme, and Grade 8–9 Band Programme
