Job Summary
The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that allocated plant equipment is maintained to a safe and reliable standard, in line with Rand Water’s operational requirements.
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 12 or completed N3 in Fitting and Turning
-
Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in fitting and turning
-
Valid Code B driver’s license
-
Ability to pass Rand Water’s internal K53 driving test
Primary Duties
-
Perform all scheduled daily, monthly, and annual maintenance tasks
-
Investigate and repair breakdowns
-
Work overtime as required
-
Ensure work standards are maintained and meet legal and safety compliance
-
Plan tasks effectively, ensuring materials, tools, transport, and equipment are available
-
Coordinate projects, including:
-
Determining site requirements
-
Conducting site inspections and attending site visits
-

Engage in maintenance planning systems, including:
-
Reporting and analysing section performance
-
Participating in Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs
-
Participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions
-
Assisting with shutdown planning
-
Knowledge

Operation of field mechanical equipment
-
Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its application
-
Knowledge of water purification and treatment processes
