About the Role
Nova Pioneer Paulshof is looking for a superstar Afrikaans Teacher to join their Primary School team starting January 2026. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic, enquiry-based teaching environment within an innovative and growing network of schools across Africa.
Key Responsibilities

Teach Afrikaans (Grades R–7) using an enquiry-based learning approach

Design and deliver impactful, tech-enhanced lessons

Support and mentor Apprentice Teachers

Track and assess student progress; adjust lessons accordingly
-
Collaborate with Deans and learning designers for continuous improvement

Build strong relationships with parents through regular communication

Participate in co-curricular activities and school events
-
Uphold the Nova Pioneer values and contribute to the school culture

Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods

Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent + PGCE
-
SACE registered
-
Fluent in Afrikaans (spoken, reading, writing)

Majored in Afrikaans or prior experience teaching Afrikaans as a first or second language
-
Experience with the Cambridge curriculum is advantageous
-
At least 1–2 years’ classroom teaching experience preferred
