Position Overview
St Stithians College is seeking a vibrant, hardworking, and enthusiastic Academic Support Teacher for the Intermediate Phase. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within an inclusive education environment, providing support to learners with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities

Provide academic and learning support in mixed ability classes

Collaborate closely with teachers to differentiate and moderate the curriculum
-
Apply the latest research and strategies to assist learners with barriers to learning

Support social-emotional learning and wellbeing programmes
-
Participate in co-curricular activities and pastoral care initiatives
-
Integrate iPad-based learning activities where appropriate
-
Contribute to ongoing professional development and share best practices
Requirements
-
Relevant qualifications in Academic & Learning Support/Remedial Education
-
Experience and commitment to inclusive education
-
Sound understanding of strategies for learners with barriers to learning
-
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
-
Experience or knowledge of Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) is advantageous
-
Emotional intelligence (EQ), mindfulness, and emotional agility
-
Registered with SACE and able to provide a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
-
Commitment to the school’s ethos and co-curricular programmes
