🧾 About the Role:

As a Health & Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health & safety legislation and client-specific safety protocols. You will proactively manage risks, minimize workplace incidents, and contribute to a safe working environment in alignment with the Master Service Agreement and OHS Act.

✅ Key Responsibilities:

🏗 Operational Delivery:

  • Monitor workplace hazards and enforce safety measures.

  • Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

  • Ensure compliance with emergency plans and health/safety inductions.

  • Oversee contractor safety management and legal registers.

  • Participate in internal/external audits and inspections.

  • Maintain HSE documentation on Tsebo SharePoint and client systems.

  • Liaise with line managers to resolve safety concerns and enforce safe behaviour.

👥 Customer Focus:

  • Attend and contribute to Health & Safety Committee meetings.

  • Handle client queries, ensure high responsiveness and follow-through.

  • Promote client and Tsebo corporate image and service excellence.

📊 Reporting:

  • Compile and present monthly safety statistics.

  • Ensure timeous reporting on incidents, audits, and corrective actions.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience:

  • Matric (Grade 12)

  • National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (NQF 5 / SAMTRAC)

  • 3+ years’ experience in health & safety roles in hospitality, facilities, maintenance or project environments

  • Working knowledge of fire safety, industrial hygiene, and legal compliance

  • Valid understanding of WCA/COID and vendor safety file management
