History Teacher – High School

Position Overview

Crawford International is seeking a qualified and experienced History Teacher to plan, implement, and assess instructional programs in a high school environment. The teacher will guide students to fulfill their academic potential, prepare them for life, and foster future-focused skills.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver History lessons that meet curriculum standards and promote critical thinking
Build meaningful relationships with students, parents, and peers to support learning and retention
Create a learning environment that motivates, inspires, and challenges students
Incorporate globally recognized approaches and methodologies to support personalized learning
Maintain professional integrity, communication, and collaboration within the school community
Engage in ongoing professional development and reflection to remain up-to-date with educational trends

Excellent planning, organisation, and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage professional relationships with high EQ
Professional presentation and time management skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Requirements

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) plus PGCE/HDE or B.Ed [FET/GET] with History specialization
Certification: Valid SACE certificate
Police Clearance required
Experience: 3–5 years teaching experience and subject specialization

Desired Experience:

Familiarity with IB curriculum and enquiry-based teaching
IEB teaching experience and matric marking
First Aid certification
