Position Objective

The Customer Service Centre Agent provides frontline support to SANRAL customers by responding to queries, processing transactions, issuing eTags, and educating customers about tolling products and services. The role ensures a positive customer experience, maintains service quality standards, and supports the effective operation of the Customer Service Centre.


Minimum Requirements

  • NQF Level 5 Higher Certificate in Business Administration, Customer Service Management, Customer Care, Call Centre Management, Retail Management, or Office Administration

  • 3 years’ experience in a customer-facing environment

  • SAQA evaluation required for international qualifications (if applicable)


Technical Competencies

  • Familiarity with Customer Centre software, CRM systems, and VoIP platforms

  • Ability to operate digital tools and office applications effectively

  • Knowledge of SANRAL products and services, including Account-Based Ticketing (ABT)

  • Strong communication skills (phone, in-person, email)

  • Time management, problem-solving, and customer relationship management


Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Ensure a positive and professional experience for all customers

  • Respond promptly to inquiries and support mobile app users

  • Provide assistance with SANRAL products and services

  • Communicate effectively through multiple channels

Customer Account Registration

  • Create and maintain accurate customer accounts and databases

  • Ensure data is correctly captured from verbal, written, or electronic sources

Customer Complaints & Problem Solving

  • Manage challenging customer interactions professionally

  • Escalate issues impacting SANRAL’s reputation

  • Ensure compliance with financial administration, cash-handling, and reconciliation procedures
