Transnet invites South African unemployed youth to apply for the Sector Specific Trainee (SST) Programme 2025 at Durban Terminals and Cape Town Terminals.

Programme Purpose

The Sector Specific Trainee Programme aims to:

• Equip participants with practical skills and exposure to industry-specific tasks

• Enhance employability through training, mentorship, and performance reviews

• Develop a pipeline for key roles within Transnet Port Terminals (TPT)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in departmental projects and operational tasks

• Support administrative functions, documentation, and reporting

• Participate in training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programmes

• Shadow experienced professionals to gain industry insights

• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 / Matric

• Advantageous: TVET N6 in Logistics/Transport

• Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years

Key Competencies

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Conflict management and resolution abilities

• Strong attention to detail and integrity

• Ability to work under pressure and multi-task

• Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office
