About the Bursary

Drakenstein Municipality invites youth aged 18–35 years, who permanently reside in Paarl, Wellington, Gouda, Saron, or Simondium, to apply for partial bursaries for the 2026 academic year.


Fields of Study Covered

Funding is available for full-time studies in the following areas (relevant to the Local Government Sector):

  • Engineering: Civil, Mechanical, Electro-Technical

  • Town & Regional Planning

  • Local Economic Development & Tourism

  • Architectural Technology

  • Environmental, Water/Wastewater, Solid Waste

  • Finance: Financial Management, Accounting, Auditing

  • Artisan Training: Diesel Mechanics, Welding, Building Construction, Plumbing, Electrical (Heavy Current)

  • Community & Social Development

  • Sports Administration

  • Public Administration & Services: Law Enforcement, Firefighting, Traffic Management, HR, Public Management

  • Accredited Skills Programmes: Hairdressing, Welding, Painting, Grass Cutting, Digger Loader, etc.


Requirements

✅ Age between 18–35 years
✅ Permanent resident of Paarl, Wellington, Gouda, Saron, or Simondium
✅ Submit latest academic results (June/Sept 2025)
✅ Provide proof of application to a tertiary/learning institution
✅ Submit fully completed application form with all required documents
ℹ️ Current bursary holders continuing their studies automatically qualify (if performance meets policy requirements).

⚠️ If you do not receive feedback by 31 January 2026, consider your application unsuccessful.
