Job Description

Carlyle College is inviting applications for the position of English Home Language and Consumer Studies Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching these subjects, driving the curriculum, and supporting the vision and ethos of the school.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English Home Language and Consumer Studies at the FET level

  • Plan and implement a dynamic curriculum and engaging learning programme

  • Display creativity, exploration, and innovation in the classroom

  • Participate in the school’s extramural and sporting programs

  • Provide excellent interpersonal, organisational, and administrative skills

  • Be willing to teach other subjects as required in a small independent school


Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant FET Teaching Qualification

  • Minimum of two years’ experience, preferably at IEB Level

  • SACE registration (essential)

  • Police clearance and sexual offenders check (essential)

  • Passion for teaching English and Consumer Studies

  • Ability to drive these subjects throughout the school

  • Ability to use initiative and insight in the classroom

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
