Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Studies
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an academic library
Key Responsibilities
-
Manage circulation desk: issuing, renewing, and returning book loans
-
Sort and re-shelve books, periodicals, and other materials
-
Assist with library displays, reading programs, and events
-
Daily handling and shelf reading of journals
-
Provide reader advisory and ready-reference assistance
-
Support patrons with bibliographic instruction and database searches
-
Assist with book indexing
-
Enforce library rules and maintain discipline
-
Promote and encourage a reading culture among students
-
Participate in whole-school activities, including non-library events
-
Work rotational shifts, including evenings or weekends as required
-
Maintain knowledge of archival practices (advantageous)
-
Confident in using library databases and digital tools
Skills and Attributes
-
Strong command of English (written & spoken)
-
Team player with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
-
Proactive and enthusiastic about promoting literacy and reading
-
Comfortable supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the school
-
Detail-oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently
