About the Bursary

The Peermont Education Trust bursary supports youth residing in the Ekurhuleni metropolitan area (Gauteng) to pursue full-time undergraduate studies in any field (excluding Medicine) at accredited tertiary institutions in Gauteng.

The bursary forms part of Peermont’s mission to remove financial barriers, nurture talent, and open career opportunities for young people in the community.

What the Bursary Covers

  • Registration and tuition fees

  • Prescribed books and study materials

  • Accommodation (where approved)

Selection Criteria

  • Based on academic excellence and financial need (combined annual household income considered).

  • Renewable annually based on academic performance.

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

  • Trustees’ decision is final.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen

  • Permanently reside in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng

  • Be studying or intend to study full-time toward an undergraduate qualification (any field except Medicine)

  • Be accepted/registered at an accredited tertiary institution in Gauteng

  • Enrol in a programme of at least 1 year duration

Required Supporting Documents

Submit clear, certified copies of:

  • South African ID

  • Grade 11 results & June 2025 Matric results (if in Matric) – final NSC results once available

  • Matric/NSC certificate (if completed Matric)

  • Full academic record including latest results (if studying)

  • Proof of residence in Ekurhuleni (e.g., utility account)

  • Parents’/Guardians’ proof of income:

    • Salary/wage slips (if employed) OR

    • Affidavit (if unemployed/self-employed) OR

    • Death certificates (if deceased)
