Role Purpose
The Principal is responsible for the operational and academic management of Tyger Valley College, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements while upholding the school’s values and delivering academic excellence. The role reports to the Brand COO.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management of School Operations
-
Oversee efficient operations, financial expenditure, and budget input.

Ensure compliance with policies and legislation.

Monitor KPIs (student retention, rollovers, etc.) and recommend improvements.

Collaborate with other Principals for brand alignment.
2. Academic Leadership
-
Implement academic policies and curriculum development.

Oversee timetabling, assessments, and teaching performance.

Monitor and drive student achievement and teaching quality.
3. Customer Relationship Management
-
Represent the school at marketing events, open days, and parent evenings.

Build and maintain strong parent and student relationships.

Ensure smooth registration and graduation processes.
4. Human Resource Management
-
Lead, mentor, and manage staff performance and development.

Conduct reviews, succession planning, and manage labour relations.

Drive Employment Equity targets and adherence to the Code of Conduct.
5. Health & Safety
-
Ensure the welfare of students, staff, and visitors.

Identify risks and recommend facility improvements.
Competencies & Requirements
-
Qualifications: Undergraduate degree (NQF 7) and PGDE or B.Ed.
-
Preferred: Postgraduate qualification (NQF 8) in Management, Policy, or Curriculum Development.

Experience: Minimum 8 years in teaching & learning, 5 years in management (High School/College).

Certification: SACE registered.

Skills: Computer literacy, organisational excellence, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, and strong leadership.
