ABOUT THE BURSARY:
The Executive Mayor of Rand West City Local Municipality invites applications for the 2026 Mayoral Bursary Programme.
The bursary is aimed at undergraduate studies and artisan training, covering various critical and scarce skills fields aligned with municipal needs.
FIELDS OF STUDY:
Funding is available for full-time undergraduate qualifications in the following areas:

Energy

Engineering

Environmental Health
-
Finance
-
Information Technology
-
Mining
-
Public & Business Management
-
Other Scarce & Critical Skills (at the Mayor’s discretion)
WHAT THE BURSARY COVERS:

Study materials

May also cover accommodation and food allowance (based on individual need)
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must:
-
Reside within Rand West City Local Municipality (Gauteng)
-
Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
-
Intend to study full-time at a public university or public institution in South Africa
-
Pursue a qualification of at least 1 year or 3–4 academic years
-
Have a combined household income of ≤ R350 000 per annum
-
Preference will be given to:
-
Families on the indigent database
-
Applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds
