Job Description:
The University of the Free State (UFS) is offering an internship opportunity for an Intern at the GPS Hub Reception within its Career Services department. This contract position will provide exposure to office management and administrative tasks in a university setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Reception & Administrative Tasks:
-
Receive and sort incoming parcels/mail.
-
Circulate central communications to GPS Hub staff.
-
Maintain and update GPS Hub staff lists (e.g., telephone and birthday lists).
-
File and maintain records of visitors’ logs and office key management.
-
Ensure smooth running of reception (including lunch times and leave).
-
Coordinate venue booking of shared spaces in GPS Hub and Modlec meeting venues.

Collaborate with CTL/Student Affairs administrative support as needed.

Customer & Visitor Support:
-
Welcome visitors to GPS Hub and direct them to appropriate offices or venues.

Sign in/out visitors to the GPS Hub.

Provide first-line support for general GPS Hub inquiries from visitors.

Handle general telephone and email communication.

Inherent Job Requirements:
-
Educational Qualification: A B-degree on NQF Level 7 in Office Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, or Human Resources Management.
Additional Selection Criteria:

Internship Eligibility: Applicants should not currently be participating in an existing learnership or internship programme.

Work Experience: Applicants should not have any formal previous work experience.

Internship Agreement: The applicant must be willing to sign an internship agreement with UFS.

Salary:

R9,100.50 per month (Annual Remuneration Package)
