Job Overview
Dainfern College is seeking a High School Laboratory Technician to manage and maintain science laboratories, assist with practical lessons, and ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will be an innovative and professional scientist with strong organisational skills and a passion for science education.
Key Responsibilities

Manage science laboratories according to NOSA health and safety requirements, including chemical and biological waste disposal

Supervise a laboratory assistant

Prepare, standardise, and perform quality control on reagents

Conduct analytical/laboratory analysis and approve production samples/blends
-
Regular calibration, maintenance, and repair of laboratory equipment
-
Verify manufacturing and expiry dates on chemical batch stickers
-
Control and order stock, dissection samples, and new equipment
-
Set up, run, and take down laboratory practical work and practical examinations

Maintain records of past experiments and equipment lists

Review and update laboratory work instructions

Assist teachers during practical lessons and examinations
Requirements

Suitable tertiary qualification in a relevant scientific field

Innovative, creative, and professional approach

Proficiency in reagent preparation and laboratory techniques

Knowledge of proper chemical storage and laboratory safety

Strategic agility and strong organisational skills
