Position Overview

The Elementary School Teaching Partner works alongside the Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher to support and enhance student learning. This role involves active collaboration, classroom instruction, small group support, and supervision. Teaching Partners also contribute to school life beyond the classroom, supporting both academic and co-curricular programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.

  • Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organization, and differentiated instruction.

  • Work one-on-one or with small groups to support learners’ development.

  • Supervise students inside and outside of the classroom throughout the school day.

  • Take responsibility for the class in the absence of the Homeroom Teacher.

  • Engage in professional development and curriculum collaboration.

  • Assist in preparing classroom materials and publications.

  • Carry out assigned supervisory duties.

  • Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the Elementary Principal.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working with children.

  • Excellent verbal and written English.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience in collaborative learning environments.

  • Growth mindset and a willingness to learn.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Education degree/diploma or in progress.

  • SACE registration or in progress.

  • Teacher certification or in progress.

  • Experience working in a school or similar educational setting.

  • Comfortable using educational technology tools and software.
