Role Overview
The Head of Department (HOD) for Foundation Phase and Robotics & Coding will lead and inspire educators to deliver outstanding foundational education while integrating robotics and coding into the curriculum. This role requires a balance of leadership, academic expertise, and forward-thinking approaches to education.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver and oversee a stimulating learning environment for reading, literacy, numeracy, and robotics & coding.

Motivate and challenge students with future-focused education.

Manage academic delivery, assessments, and reporting.

Lead student behaviour management initiatives.

Serve as a brand ambassador for the school.

Ensure compliance with administrative duties and health & safety protocols.

Foster positive partnerships with colleagues, parents, and the wider community.

Maintain open, respectful communication within the school community.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Undergraduate degree (NQF Level 6) in Early Childhood Development or B.Ed. (Foundation Phase).

PGCE if degree is psychology-based.
-
SACE certification and police clearance.
-
2–5 years teaching experience.

Computer and digital literacy.

First Aid certification.
