Job Summary

Greenway Farms is seeking a hands-on, solutions-oriented IT Technician with a strong focus on network infrastructure and end-user support. This role supports the reliability, security, and efficiency of the IT network across the business and is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic, agricultural or production-driven environments.


Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of IT support experience with a focus on networking and infrastructure

  • Hands-on experience with cabling, device setup, and user support

  • Exposure to agricultural, production, or field-based environments is advantageous

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Windows Server, Office 365, Azure administration

  • Networking: LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN setup

  • Hardware: firewalls, switches, routers, wireless controllers

  • Understanding of data backup and disaster recovery

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

  • Highly reliable and organized

  • Ability to work under pressure and flexible hours when needed

Certifications (Advantageous):

  • CompTIA A+ / Network+

  • Microsoft Certified (MCP, MCSA, Modern Workplace Administrator)


Duties and Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure & Hardware

  • Install and maintain routers, switches, access points, and firewalls

  • Perform cabling installations and maintain connectivity across all locations

  • Optimize wireless network coverage and address performance issues

Systems Administration & Support

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software, and networks

  • Deploy and maintain PCs, printers, peripherals

  • Manage Microsoft 365 (accounts, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)

  • Support Azure and cloud-based services

  • Maintain IT asset registers and ensure licensing compliance

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Monitor systems proactively to prevent downtime

  • Maintain and test backups and disaster recovery systems

  • Handle repairs, upgrades, and liaise with vendors for support

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain updated diagrams, network maps, and IT policies

  • Ensure compliance with internal data security protocols

  • Record incidents, resolutions, and preventive actions

Innovation & Improvement

  • Research new technologies and recommend improvements

  • Support strategic IT initiatives and digital transformation projects
