About the Role
Emeris, part of ADvTECH, brings together the expertise of IIE Varsity College, IIE MSA, IIE Vega School, and IIE School of Hospitality & Service Management to deliver world-class education.
The institution is seeking to appoint a Lecturer: Education to provide academic leadership, oversee curriculum quality, and ensure the effective delivery of Education qualifications. The role involves managing academic content, faculty coordination, and enhancing the student experience through innovation and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Leadership & Curriculum Management
-
Lead and manage assigned qualifications and disciplines.
-
Oversee curriculum design, development, and alignment with CHE and institutional requirements.

Ensure module and assessment quality and consistency across qualifications.
-
Integrate community engagement and innovation into curricula.
-
Prepare evidence-based curriculum reviews and changes.
2. Governance & Quality Management
-
Conduct programme reviews and quality assurance reporting.
-
Respond to external moderation and accreditation feedback.
-
Ensure qualifications meet SAQA, CHE, and industry standards.
-
Monitor student performance and implement improvement strategies.
3. Campus & Faculty Support
-
Liaise between national and campus academic teams.

Support lecturers with material implementation and assessments.
-
Track student performance and coordinate academic interventions.
-
Deliver lectures and guest lectures where needed.
4. Research & Professional Development
-
Produce academic research outputs.
-
Contribute to institutional research initiatives.
-
Engage with professional bodies, conferences, and industry experts.
-
Mentor faculty and support academic community growth.
Minimum Requirements
🎓 Education:
-
Master’s Degree (NQF 9) in a relevant field (required).

Doctoral Degree (NQF 10) – completed or in progress – preferred.
💼 Experience:
-
3–5 years’ lecturing or teaching experience in higher education.
-
3 years’ experience in a relevant specialization area.
-
Experience with regulatory compliance and online curriculum delivery systems.
-
1–2 years’ experience in writing academic material, curricula, and assessments.
-
Research, publication, and supervision experience preferred.
Key Competencies

Strong academic leadership and curriculum design skills.

Excellent communication and analytical ability.

Experience in academic governance and quality management.

Research and scholarly engagement in higher education.

Ability to mentor, coordinate, and collaborate across multiple teams.
