Job Description:

The Supervisor role at CODE is crucial to assisting the Store Manager in maximising store profits by effectively increasing sales, managing stock, and controlling expenses in line with the store’s budget. The Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing various day-to-day operational duties, including stock management, customer service, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Profit Maximisation:

    • Assist the Store Manager in achieving and exceeding sales budgets to maximize store profits.

  • Stock Management:

    • Support in managing stock efficiently, ensuring stock loss management and adherence to company policies.

  • Merchandise Management:

    • Help with the implementation of visual merchandising strategies and ensure products are optimally displayed.

  • Financial Execution:

    • Provide financial assistance to ensure adherence to budget and control of expenses.

  • Administration Support:

    • Assist in administrative tasks such as stocktaking, order placement, and reporting.

  • Customer Service:

    • Ensure outstanding customer care and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers.

  • Human Resources Support:

    • Help with staff training, delegation, and providing guidance on daily tasks.

  • Stockroom Management:

    • Ensure the stockroom is organized and adheres to company layout and specifications.

  • Policy Enforcement:

    • Consistently apply company values, policies, and procedures in all aspects of work.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:

    • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.

  • Experience:

    • 3-5 years of retail experience as a Shop Assistant or in a similar supervisory role.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong customer service and communication skills.

    • Accurate till operation and basic financial management.

    • High standards of work, including cleanliness and stock organisation.

    • Ability to work well under pressure and a high stress tolerance.

    • Good planning and delegation skills, with a focus on leading a team.

    • Basic computer literacy (MS Office or similar).

  • Advantageous:

    • Further qualifications in retail or business are advantageous.
