🔹 About the Role
St Andrew’s School for Girls, a 123-year-old independent school in Johannesburg, is seeking an Academic Head of the Sciences Department who will also teach Life Sciences (Grades 8–12). The role reports to the Senior School Head and requires leadership across the Life Sciences and Physical Sciences departments.
✅ Requirements

Relevant teaching qualifications and SACE registration certificate

Minimum 7 years teaching experience in Life Sciences

Strong knowledge of FET Life Sciences and GET Natural Science curriculum and assessment

Experience in IEB Grade 12 NSC marking
-
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
-
Strong organisational, time, and team management skills

Ability to integrate technology in the classroom

Willingness to participate in co-curricular activities

Commitment to the school’s values and ethos

Clearance under Child Protection Act and Sexual Offenses Register
