Cedarwood School is seeking a passionate Afrikaans FAL Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to teach Afrikaans at First Additional Language (FAL) level and possess the skills to differentiate instruction, making the curriculum accessible to all students.
Position Requirements:

Ability to teach Afrikaans at FAL level.

Proficient in applying various teaching methodologies to cater to diverse learning styles.

Capable of differentiating instruction to meet the individual needs of pupils.

Teaching degree with a specialization in Afrikaans or a language-teaching focused qualification.

At least 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in a remedial school setting.

Fully versed in the Grades 1-6 CAPS FAL curricula.

Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Permanent SACE registration.

Possession of a Police Clearance and Sexual Offenders Clearance Certificate.

Fully computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office software.

Must align with the school’s ethos, culture, and values.

Demonstrates patience, kindness, and an invitational teaching approach.

Attention to detail and a willingness to go the extra mile.

Prepared to work late when needed and open to feedback.

Proficient in the review of outcomes, analysis of results, and integration of information into comprehensive reports.

Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and inspire confidence in students.

Strong interpersonal relationships with staff and students, team player, and growth mindset.
