About the Role
St Stithians College is looking for a qualified Afrikaans Teacher to join their Junior Preparatory School on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching Afrikaans at a foundation phase level, with an emphasis on integrating modern educational practices and aligning with the IEB requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach Afrikaans at a foundation phase level.

Develop learning and teaching materials, as well as assessment practices according to IEB standards.

Facilitate small group activities under the direction of the class teacher.

Participate in the broader life of the school.

Work collaboratively within a committed team of educators.
Requirements:

A suitable professional qualification in education.

Experience in teaching Afrikaans at a foundation phase level.

Experience in developing learning and teaching materials according to IEB standards (advantageous).

Strong knowledge and passion for the Afrikaans language.

A future-orientated approach to teaching and learning.

Computer literacy and an interest in integrating IT into teaching.

A sound understanding of the South African curriculum and international trends in education.

Excellent people and organizational skills.

Willingness to work within the values and Methodist Christian ethos of the school.

SACE registration and sexual offender’s clearance certificate.
