Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Artisan Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining machinery, equipment, and systems at our Platreef mine. This includes cleaning, lubrication, and preservation of various mining and plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake cleaning, lubrication, and preservation of machinery, vehicles, equipment, tools, and workshop areas.

Perform maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems, including de-watering systems, winders, and headgear.

Conduct general cleaning and removal of rust from parts and equipment.

Ensure the proper use and care of tools and equipment.

Assist artisans with inspections, testing, and repairs of lifting equipment and plant.

Deliver and collect materials, spares, tools, and machinery required for maintenance work.
Qualifications and Skills Required:

Grade 12 (NQF 4) or equivalent.

Relevant Trade Certificate in fitting (or a related field).

First Aid Certificate (advantageous).

Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s License.

Fault-finding skills for mechanical systems.
Experience Required:
-
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a mining environment, with a focus on mechanical and welding tasks.

Solid welding and mechanical experience in a mining or industrial setting.
Preference:
Preference will be given to South African citizens (especially Historically Disadvantaged South Africans – HDSA) from local communities surrounding the Ivanplats Platreef mine.
